Bonsai is miniature natural landscape in a pot, created using trees and other plants.

This view of the universe, which expresses an infinite world in a limited space, is the embodiment of the spirit of Zen.

Zen teachings are about stripping away the excess and focusing on the essence of what is important.

The Bonsai tree is contorted into various shapes and positions to provide a human-centered aesthetic. In effect, it encapsulates humanity's will to control the natural world...

As with many processes there is an opposing view:

Bonsai enthusiasts dote on the trees they grow.

So, is bonsai a product of the human ego?

Is bonsai an abuse of nature?
